Come join leading scholars, activists, and physicians for a discussion challenging social and medical attitudes concerning intersexuality. Participants include Suzanne Kessler, Professor of Psychology at Purchase College (SUNY) and author of Lessons from the Intersexed; Betsy Driver, Co-founder and Executive Director of Bodies Like Ours; Dr. Kenneth Glassberg, Director of Pediatric Urology at the Children's Hospital of New York and Professor of Surgery at Columbia University; and Ellen Feder, member of the Intersex Society of North America and author of "Doctor's Orders: Parents and Intersexed Children" in The Subject of Care: Feminist Perspectives on Dependency. The event will take place at the New York City Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Community Center on June 12, 2003 at 7:00pm (arrive early for a pre-social).
