The Sunday edition of The New York Times has an article about intersex and various decisions parents make regarding the "normalizing" surgeries on their intersex children. Intersex activists Cheryl Chase and Betsy Driver are interviewed, along with several parents and doctors. In addition to personal stories, the article mentions the Human Rights Commission hearing on intersex in San Francisco and the changing attitudes within the medical community. We are just not sure why the article is in the "Fashion & Style" section of the paper, but that's okay since the article is good.
