Dear Friends and Supporters,
We have some exciting news to share with you about Bodies Like Ours and we need your help.
As we continue to grow at a phenomenal rate, we need your help and financial assistance to make the rest of 2003 another successful year for Bodies Like Ours.
In January, we celebrated the 1st anniversary of our founding and website launch. As March passed, we marked one year since we became a non-profit organization. It's hard to believe how much we have accomplished in such a short time. Every day we are reminded how necessary an organization offering peer support and information for people born with bodies like ours is.
For many of our constituents, the veil of isolation experienced for so long has been lifted. Through our outreach events and our website, we have seen people grow from meeting another just like them for the very first time into speaking publicly about their experiences about living in a body that is different.
Some of the programs we have instituted include our successful Tell5!. Tell5! simply asks anyone we come in contact with to tell five other people they know about intersexuality. We supply handouts to help accomplish this easy method of spreading the word. Tell5! is our way of recognizing that 5 children a day still have their genitals surgically altered for cosmetic reasons and without their consent in the United States alone. Thousands of informational handouts have been distributed throughout the world by our supporters and allies.
We are working with some young intersex activists to create a dynamic, youth program and website for youth born with bodies like ours. These young advocates are truly among the youth leaders within our movement and we are extremely excited about this much needed project. We believe that by having their own space, young people will be able to be themselves without shame and grow without the secrecy so many feel trapped under.
These are but two of our programs and you can learn more about them and other programs by visiting our website at www.BodiesLikeOurs.org.
As we move through our second year we see more great things ahead, but...
We desperately need your help to get us there.
As you continue to celebrate spring with your family and friends and the growth and renewal it brings, please consider making a generous donation to Bodies Like Ours today.
We were dependent and grateful for your financial support that made our inaugural year one filled with incredible growth and we still need your continued financial assistance to help us continue these successes.
Will you help us continue this important and necessary work by making a generous donation today?
Your donation -- no matter what amount -- goes a long way in helping us reach our goals of eliminating the shame, secrecy, and isolation felt by the thousands of people born with atypical genitals. Without it, we would be unable to continue this important and necessary work that is fixing a very broken part of our small world.
You can make an immediate donation today online by visiting our secure donation page at http://bodieslikeours.org/Support_Our_Efforts/donate.html. Credit card donations may also be phoned into our office at 908-832-7755. If you prefer to send a check, our mailing address is:

P.S. As we look back on our successful first year and celebrate another season of growing, we are reminded that in order for a garden to prosper the soil needs to be worked and seeds need to be planted. Please help us plant and nurture this large and important garden.
