Same-Sex Marriage in Portland: March 3, 2004 (2/6)

It's almost 10am... Damn there are lots of reporters here.

The gayest looking anti-gay protester.

The queer-friendly signs state: "We have the right to love and unite. Same sex marriage should not be a fight" and "Same sex marriages: Must unite, we're here to fight for our right"

Pictured in the center is Mary Li, the first person in line to receive a marriage certificate. According to the paper, she works with the Multnomah County's program for school-age children. Congratulations Mary!

The loudest protester. Usually when the anti-gay protesters show up at gay-related event, both sides get aggressive and start yelling at each other. But not today. We were feeling too happy to be bothered by whatever these jerks say.

County Commissioners Serena Cruz and Lisa Naito came out to congratulate the happy couples. (I'm sure that Diane Linn and Maria Rojo de Steffey also came out too; I just didn't see them). Thank you ladiez, we love you!
