1) Intersex Info @ V-DAYs--Thanks!

Campus V-DAYs that distribute handouts about intersex, include an intersex monologue, and/or donate portion of proceeds to intersex groups include UC Berkeley, San Jose State, UC Los Angeles, UC Davis, University of Maryland, Simmons College, Smith College, Ohio State University, Evergreen State College, and more. In addition, intersex activists and allies have tabled or will table at Portland State University, Portland Community College, University of Oregon, and others. Finally, thanks to Bradley-Angle House (domestic violence shelter in Portland) for distributing our brochures on its table at Birthingway College of Midwifery.
If your local V-DAY has not taken place yet, please do contact them and ask them to include join the growing list of pro-intersex V-DAYs. You can find information about V-DAYs in your area at http://events.vday.org/
2) ipdx Presents: Speakers' Bureau to Launch
This month, Intersex Initiative Portland will launch a "speaker's bureau," which will train our volunteers to do a basic presentation on intersex activism for local non-profits and classrooms. This will make it possible for us to send presenters to gatherings with low or no budget. If you are from Portland area and are interested in becoming a presenter or inviting presenters, please feel free to email info@ipdx.org. We will be promoting the speaker's bureau via mail and telephone as well.
3) Intersex Film Festival--Help Wanted
ipdx's next big project is Intersex Film Festival, which is tentatively scheduled on April 11 at Portland State University. In fact, we are hoping to turn it into a traveling film festival, so PSU presentation is an important test-run. If you can help organize, promote, and/or help run the event, let us know at info@ipdx.org.
4) Intersex Studies course to be offered at PSU
ipdx director Emi Koyama will be teaching a course about intersex at Portland State University for the second time this summer. The course is tentatively scheduled for 1:00pm-3:20pm Mondays thru Thursdays from June 23rd to July 17. Registration has not started yet, so stay tuned if you are interested in taking this course. The course is offered through Women's Studies Department.
